Software modernisation
Tired of spending your money on a slow, outdated IT system that doesn't even perform properly?
In our country, many organisations continue to rely on legacy systems and products that are increasingly difficult to keep up and running: the lack of competent staff, the cost of replacing hardware, questionable system security, and the increasing burden of upgrades due to outdated technology are placing an unrealistically high time and financial burden on businesses.
Forget the daily hassle and switch to a system that truly helps your business grow!
Why is it time to replace legacy applications?
It probably goes without saying that systems built before the 2000s were not yet designed to work with other systems and exchange information continuously. However, what was not a problem then is now a serious drawback.
Upgrading outdated, legacy software can be the first step to boosting your business.
Thanks to the modernisation, you will be able to react quickly to market changes, easily produce up-to-date reports, at lower costs and with more satisfied colleagues. Think of all the frustrating, time-consuming, manual work that will disappear to make way for, for example, a much faster and more efficient customer service.
This is a win-win situation.
Your upgraded system will be able to be part of the latest innovations - such as cloud and big data solutions, social media or even mobile technology innovations - that represent significant business value.
How can we help?
We know that it's a big decision to replace old software and find one that will be fully fit for the future of your business. So, as a first step, we spent some time with employees to understand the company's business, what the current system was holding them back and what new system would be able to deliver the right performance. This is vital, as technology upgrades need to be tailored to the company's specific needs.
We then either migrate some of your processes - such as your proprietary business processes - to an upgraded system, that can work efficiently with newer technologies, or we build a completely new system, which can be replaced by a new system that can be shut down at the end of the process.
Whichever option you choose, we use the latest technologies to design a system that delivers efficiency, so the end result is: an informed management team, productive users and satisfied customers.
Data migration
In most cases, data from the "old" system will need to be "migrated" or transferred to the new system. In some cases, it is necessary to synchronise data between the old and the new system, to ensure that the concurrent systems are up-to-date.
We have extensive experience in managing complex data migration scenarios, so you can leave the whole process to us to ensure a smooth transition.
Process
- From the design phase, our team digs deep into understanding the day-to-day running of your business.
- This often encourages employees to highlight areas of the workflow that they think could be improved. We gather all this, listen to management and users, and then use the information we gather to outline our own proposals for modernisation.
- We also take the time to analyse and document the existing system, ensuring that nothing is left out. In our experience, this is key to a smooth replacement, and failure to do so can result in functionality gaps that are typically only discovered after the new system is up and running, when it is difficult and costly to fix. It is our responsibility to avoid this.
- We then put our observations into writing and create a prototype of the new system to illustrate how it will look and work, at this early stage of the planning.
Technology and planning
As an official Microsoft Partner, we primarily use Microsoft products and tools to develop your applications.
Our products are delivered with ASP.NET or C# code. We also combine the latest technical platforms for the back-end, including Microsoft SQL Server or Web Services. We also have many years of experience in JavaScript and AJAX solutions for the interactivity of applications and websites, and we work on MySQL and Oracle systems on demand.
While we place great emphasis on prior needs assessment, we know that it is almost impossible to answer all functionality questions in advance. That's why we keep in close contact with our partners throughout the project and involve them in the testing process, so that the end result is truly useful and tailored to the user's needs.
After the web application is finished
We won't leave our partners behind even after the project is finished. We take pride in what we deliver and want our customers to get the most out of the application, so:
- We provide user documentation in plain English and do not bore our partners with useless technical terminology.
- We offer full training for our applications, either at our clients' offices or at our premises in Budapest.
- We provide ongoing support on demand, with flat-rate support contracts and priority availability.
- We also provide hosting services for our applications on request. We've invested heavily in building a secure, scalable and lightning-fast infrastructure that provides adequate protection against potential cybersecurity risks.
